SHAWNA N. DOWNEY LL.B
Shawna N. Downey was raised in Alliston, Ontario. Shawna received her LL.B. in 2007 from Osgoode Hall Law School. She received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours at The University of Waterloo. Her major was in Psychology and she also minored in Legal Studies and Criminology. Shawna articled at the Law Firm of Gilmore and Gilmore in Alliston, where she was later hired as an Associate Lawyer and began practicing law in 2008. While at Gilmore and Gilmore, Shawna practiced both Family Law and Real Estate Law as well as some Estate and Civil Law. In 2014, Shawna started her own general practice Law Firm. Although Shawna is experienced and practices many areas of law, she specializes in Family Law and Courtroom Litigation. Shawna was drawn to Family Law for the opportunity to make a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of her clients and those in her community and to help people through the difficult challenges that come with separation and divorce.
